About

Dirk Dijkstra encouraged us to begin breeding in 1989. Our first foal, Dutch Treat, was by Dutchman (KWPN, imp.) out of a quality TB mare that had produced a number of race winners and some successful show horses.

Fred Hoevenaars, who classified the foal, commented that “People breed for a lifetime to produce a horse of this quality, and you do it first go!"

For a boutique family breeding farm, we have been extremely successful with the stock we have bred.

We have been particularly proud of our horses’ successes at Dressage with the Stars (DWTS). Youngsters we have taken to this prestigious competition have consistently placed in the final 10, most notably Precision, who placed 4th in the 4yo Dressage Horse Competition, and Golden Delicious, who won the Horse Magazine Trophy for best performed dressage and showjumping horse.

All our young stock are handled well from birth, broken in by Cheryl and finally helped by Andrew McLean and more recently Warwick McLean. They are all sensible with great backs and excellent hind legs, making the job for dressage or jumping so much easier. They all love being handled and in work, and thrive on competition and training.

Lydia will be delighted to tell you about the three 2007 foals and the two 3-year-olds currently available.
